On Wednesday, June 11th, former Governor Andrew Cuomo secured endorsements from former Governor David Paterson and Manhattan Democratic Party Chair Keith Wright, giving his New York City mayoral campaign a boost ahead of the Democratic primary.

The announcement took place at Amy Ruth’s in Harlem, where both Paterson and Wright emphasized Cuomo’s leadership experience and record in government. Their support came just one day after former Mayor Michael Bloomberg also endorsed Cuomo, marking a week of rising momentum for the former governor.

Wright, despite previous disagreements with Cuomo, said the city needs experienced leadership and credited Cuomo for delivering major infrastructure projects. Paterson warned against unrealistic campaign promises from other candidates and called Cuomo the most capable contender based on his time as governor from 2010 to 2021.

Cuomo said he’s ready to face federal pressure from the Trump administration and pointed to his experience running major state projects. He warned that New York City is in trouble, citing problems like housing shortages and low trust in police, and said the city needs experienced leadership.
